Mobile Sim Cards

Can you imagine a computer without operating system, a bike without fule, its funny like this a mobile without a SIM is like life without oxygen but do you know that Subscriber Identity Module formarly called SIM securely stores the service-subscriber key that called IMSI. A IMSI used to identify a subscriber on mobile telephony devices such as computers and mobile phones. A great facilty that SIM give to a mobile phones user to change phones by simply removing the SIM card from one mobile phone and inserting it into another mobile phone.

SIM cards are available in two standard sizes.

*The first is the size of a credit card (85.60 mm × 53.98 mm x 0.76 mm).

*And other one has a width of 25 mm, a height of 15 mm, and a thickness of 0.76 mm.

Mostly all SIM cards are supplied as a full-sized card with the smaller card held in place by a few plastic links and can be easily broken off to be used in a phone that uses the smaller SIM.

Each SIM card has must stores a unique International Mobile Subscriber Identity (IMSI) in following format.

* The first 3 digits represent the Mobile Country Code (MCC).

* The next 2 digits represent the Mobile Network Code (MNC).

* The next 10 digits represent the mobile station identification number.

Prepaid SIM card

Prepaid refers to services paid for in advance. When you pay in advance for your cell phones SIM card its called Prepaid SIM card. Prepaid accounts are assets, and they are increased by debiting the account(s).

Post Paid SIM card

When a mobile user pay after use call services this type of SIM card is called Post Paid SIM card. In other words postpaid accounts can be referred to as use and pay.
